Legal Services Register
The register of legal services is a joint platform of the federal states of the Federal Republic of Germany for the publication of announcements in the field of out-of-court legal services . Until 31 December 2024, responsibility for registration lay with the federal states and their respective registration authorities. As of 1 January 2025, this responsibility has been transferred to the Federal Office of Justice (BfJ). You can use the platform now operated by the Federal Office of Justice to retrieve registration records in the field of debt collection services, pension advice, legal services in a foreign law and temporary legal services and as licence holder under the "Rechtsdienstleistungsgesetz (RDG)" (Act on Out-of-Court Legal Services), also any information on bans regarding the provision of legal services. You can also find application forms and information on required application documents.
The files previously kept by the federal states are currently being transferred to the Federal Office of Justice. No further steps are currently necessary for registered authorities and persons. A list of the previous registration offices can be accessed.
